SATO MOUGHALIAN: Music Coordinator Bio
Sato Moughalian has distinguished herself as a New York contractor by assembling groups, both large and small, with a refined and highly flexible artistic sensibility. She collaborates with composers and conductors, and has been instrumental in the development of groups with a prominent artistic profile, including L’Opéra Français de New York, the Gotham Chamber Opera, and her own Perspectives Ensemble.
She works frequently with such dynamic music directors as Yves Abel, Angel Gil-Ordoñez, Neal Goren, Rob Kapilow, Roger Nierenberg, Francisco Nuñez, and George Steel at venues including Lincoln Center and Lincoln Center Festival, Carnegie Hall, the 92nd Street Y, Society for Ethical Culture, Miller Theatre, Merkin Concert Hall, Symphony Space, and Music on the Island. She has contracted for church and choral concert series including First Presbyterian Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, West Village Chorale, Barnard-Columbia Chorus, and the Brookhaven Choral Society. Record labels include Sony Classics, Newport Classics, New World Records, and Vivendi. Other series include the Transient Glory project of the Young People’s Chorus of New York, the Pocket Concerto Project of Miller Theatre, Iberartists, the JVC Jazz Festival, and Wall-to-Wall Stravinsky. Ms. Moughalian works with a wide range of players characterized by both their finely-honed chamber music skills and their evident love of music.
Perspectives Ensemble is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit corporation. Under its umbrella, Artistic Director Sato Moughalian, and General Manager Antonio Tessitore also provide an array of services to the New York arts community.
